Rixoffice Interface Overview

Published September 4, 2026Updated September 4, 20265 min read

A tour of the Rixoffice workspace: home screen, tabs, ribbon, AI composer, settings and how the five apps share one consistent interface.

On this page

Rixoffice keeps five powerful editors inside one consistent workspace. Learning the shell once means you can drive every app.

The Home screen

The first thing you see lists recent files in a grid, grouped by Today and Yesterday, with filter chips for Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDF and Markdown. From here you can:

  • Reopen anything with one click.
  • Start something new with the New buttons.
  • Open Cloud Projects in the sidebar to browse synced Rixcart projects for docs, sheets and slides, with search and sorting.
  • Open Settings for AI providers, plan management and updates.

Tabs and multi-document editing

Every open file is a tab across the top of the workspace:

  • Click + (New Tab) to open a picker for a new or existing file.
  • Drag nothing, learn nothing — click a tab to switch instantly.
  • Close a tab with its X; the document autosaves first.

Ribbons and toolbars per app

Each editor tailors its toolbar:

  • RixDocs uses a full ribbon: Home, Insert, Layout, Design, References, Review, View and Draw.
  • RixSheets shows the sheet grid, formula bar, sheet tabs and a Function dialog.
  • RixSlides centers a high-fidelity canvas with element sidebars, animation pane and slide thumbnails.
  • PDF Editor presents pages with annotation, sign, stamp and form tools in a side rail.
  • Markdown Studio is minimal by design: a clean block editor with a slash menu.

The AI composer

The AI composer is the assistant panel available in every app. It understands the file you have open:

  • In Docs it reads and edits paragraphs, tables and headings.
  • In Sheets it proposes cell and formula operations.
  • In Slides it can plan and build entire decks.
  • In PDF it can search, summarize, markup and edit pages.
  • In Markdown it drafts and refines blocks.

You type a request in plain language; the composer shows a preview of changes before applying them.

Settings, themes and languages

Open Settings from the Home screen or any tab to find:

  • AI providers: built-in Rix AI, OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, Ollama or a custom endpoint.
  • Plan and credits: what your subscription includes and how many AI credits remain.
  • Updates: release channel and manual update checks.
  • Appearance: Light, Dark or System theme — dark mode also darkens the editor canvas.
  • Language: 19 interface languages, from English and Chinese to Arabic, Hindi and more.

Frequently asked questions

Does every Rixoffice app look the same?

The five apps share the same shell — tabs, theme, settings and the AI composer — but each editor has its own toolbar tuned for its job: a ribbon in RixDocs, a formula bar in RixSheets, a canvas sidebar in RixSlides and so on.

How do I switch between documents in Rixoffice?

Use the tab bar at the top of the workspace. Every open document, workbook, deck or PDF is a tab. Click New Tab to open another file, and close tabs independently.

Where do I change the theme in Rixoffice?

Open Settings and choose Light, Dark or System. Dark mode applies across the whole workspace, including the editors' canvas.
