  • Security: Standard user account (no admin required)

Download Rixoffice for macOS

Download the signed disk image directly or via our verified SourceForge mirror:

Download via Terminal (curl)

bash
# Option A: Primary GitHub Release
curl -L -o ~/Downloads/Rixoffice-1.0.2-arm64.dmg "https://github.com/cybermadhan01/rixoffice-app/releases/download/v1.0.2/Rixoffice-1.0.2-arm64.dmg"

# Option B: Official SourceForge Mirror (Fast global mirror CDN)
curl -L -o ~/Downloads/Rixoffice-1.0.2-arm64.dmg "https://sourceforge.net/projects/rixoffice-mac/files/latest/download"
Mirror Failover Tip: If the GitHub direct download stalls or throws HTTP 403 / rate limits, switch immediately to the SourceForge macOS mirror. SourceForge mirrors provide high-bandwidth redundant pipes globally.

GUI Installation (Standard Drag & Drop)

  1. Double-click the downloaded Rixoffice-1.0.2-arm64.dmg file to mount it.
  2. Drag the Rixoffice.app icon directly into the Applications shortcut.
  3. Eject the disk image and launch Rixoffice from Launchpad, Spotlight, or Applications.

Terminal Installation (CLI)

You can also mount and install completely via the Terminal:

bash
# Mount the disk image
hdiutil attach ~/Downloads/Rixoffice-1.0.2-arm64.dmg

# Copy application bundle to /Applications
cp -R /Volumes/Rixoffice/Rixoffice.app /Applications/

# Unmount the disk image
hdiutil detach /Volumes/Rixoffice

Handling Gatekeeper & Security Prompts

Because new releases build automated reputation over time, macOS Gatekeeper may prompt: *"Rixoffice cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software"*.

You can approve it in seconds:

Option A (System Settings): Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Scroll down to Security → Click Open Anyway.

Option B (One-line Terminal fix):

bash
# Strip quarantine attribute to allow immediate launch
xattr -cr /Applications/Rixoffice.app

First launch on macOS

On launch, choose Sign in to synchronize your cloud projects, or Continue offline for completely disconnected local document editing. Documents are stored in your own local directories and never uploaded without your consent.

Uninstalling Rixoffice on macOS

If you ever need to remove Rixoffice:

bash
# Remove the application
rm -rf /Applications/Rixoffice.app

# Optional: remove user data
rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/rixoffice

Quick steps

Frequently asked questions

Does Rixoffice run on Apple Silicon Macs?

Yes. The macOS build is a native arm64 .dmg package for Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3 and newer). It runs efficiently on MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini and Mac Studio.

Why does macOS say Rixoffice cannot be opened?

Gatekeeper blocks apps that are not notarized yet. Right-click the app and choose Open, or go to System Settings, Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. You only need to do this once.

Does Rixoffice work offline on macOS?

Yes. Editing is 100% local. Internet is only needed for sign-in, cloud projects, updates and cloud AI. With Ollama and the Pro API & Local plan, even AI works offline.
